TAB AGM 12V 42Ah Battery – UPS, EPS and Generator Backup
TAB stationary AGM battery, 12V 42Ah, made with high-purity raw materials for maximum charge efficiency and low self-discharge (≤2%/month). Designed for backup power in UPS/EPS systems, generator starting and emergency power applications. Vertical or horizontal installation and a 10-year design life.
TAB 5GVRLA42 Stationary Battery — AGM Technology
The TAB 5GVRLA42 is a 12V 42Ah valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) stationary battery built with AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology and high-purity raw materials. Unlike the hybrid AGM-GEL models in the 5GVRLA range, this is a pure AGM battery: the electrolyte is absorbed into a microporous fiberglass mat, giving it a fast response to current spikes and making it well suited for standby/float applications such as UPS and emergency systems.
Advantages of this AGM battery
- Long service life under EUROBAT classification (10-year design life at 25°C).
- High gas recombination efficiency, reducing electrolyte loss over time.
- Low self-discharge (≤2% per month), ideal for equipment that sits in standby for long periods.
- Vertical or horizontal installation, making it easier to fit into racks, technical cabinets or tight spaces.
- Sealed and maintenance-free, with no spill risk or need for water top-ups.
Applications
UPS and EPS systems
Its main application: backup power for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and emergency power systems (EPS), where the battery typically operates in float mode and must respond reliably during a power outage.
Generator sets
Suitable for generator starting and backup, thanks to its solid current delivery and low maintenance requirements.
Emergency power
Emergency lighting, alarm control panels, and any equipment that needs a stable, long-lasting backup power source.

Frequently asked questions
Is this an AGM or a GEL battery?
It's a 100% AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery, made with high-purity raw materials. It should not be confused with the hybrid AGM-GEL models in the same TAB 5GVRLA range.
Can it be installed horizontally?
Yes, it supports both vertical and horizontal installation, making it easier to mount in racks and technical cabinets.
Does it require maintenance?
No. It's a sealed, maintenance-free VRLA battery, with no water top-ups or level checks needed.
What equipment is it designed for?
Mainly UPS/EPS systems, generator sets, and emergency backup equipment that require a reliable float-charged battery with low self-discharge.
